Bruce J Magnuson

Bruce Magnuson is a New England-based landscape photographer. His work includes both urban and rural subjects, and ranges from images that capture the raw beauty of the natural environment to contemplative images that highlight the elegiac and mysterious in the quotidian. Bruce has photographed throughout the United States and Europe, and recently added black and white infrared images to his oeuvre.

Bruce has had solo shows at the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford, MA and the Chelmsford, MA Library. In addition, he has exhibited in group and juried shows at the Griffin Musuem of Photography, the Red Brick Galley at the New England School of Photography, Exeter New Hampshire Town Hall, the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford, Ma, the Chelmsford Art Society, the Chelmsford Center for the Arts and the Chelmsford Cultural Council Winterfest Art Show. In the Spring of 2019 he had a solo show at the Acton, MA Public Library entitle "Beyond Visible Light" which highlighted his Black and White Infrared work.

Bruce has studied photography at the Griffin Museum of Photography, the New England School of Photography, the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, the Art Institute of Boston and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. He is a member of the Bedford Center for the Arts (BCA) photography group, and the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists. Bruce resides in Chelmsford, MA with his wife and daughter. After many years in the corporate world the opportunity to devote more time to photography has been an immeasurable gift.
